The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duck misses with a takedown and Kimura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Duck won't be happy with that. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kimura is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Duck knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kimura in side control, throwing shots but Duck defends. Kimura stands up. Duck gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kimura counters with a shoot takedown. Duck fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Duck bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kimura's guard. Kimura is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Duck slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kimura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duck doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kimura is tightening it up a little... Duck has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Duck reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Duck taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Helio Kimura! In his post fight interview, Helio Kimura started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
