Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Alastair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desean Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alastair might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd. Jackson has chosen Nightmare as his entrance music. Desean Jackson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Alastair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Desean Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alastair's waist but Alastair gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.
A good leg kick by Alastair.
Jackson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alastair.
Jackson looks gassed!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jackson.
Alastair is pushing Jackson's head away, looking to escape. Jackson manages to hold on to the position though.
Alastair controls the position for a moment.
Alastair is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Alastair is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jackson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Jackson in side control, throwing shots but Alastair defends.

Jackson wants to control but Alastair is keeping him busy.
Alastair tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Jackson avoids the attempt from Alastair to control.
Jackson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Alastair knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
Alastair tries to hold on but Jackson postures up.
Alastair gets back to half guard.
Alastair is looking to escape.
Alastair wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Jackson is working for a kimura but Alastair is defending it quite comfortably.

Jackson uses his free foot to push down on Alastair's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alastair.
Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alastair is looking to escape.

Jackson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alastair to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alastair shrugs it off.
Alastair tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.

Jackson prevents Alastair from getting the reversal.

Jackson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alastair turns into him and now he's in Jackson's guard.
Alastair is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jackson wants to control but Alastair is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson is looking for a sweep. Alastair is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Alastair is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alastair not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexander Alastair will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sloppy strikes from Alastair. Those never looked like landing.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jackson.
A combination from Alastair does no damage.
Alastair looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Alastair pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson avoids the head kick by Alastair.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alastair.

Alastair throws a head kick that misses.
Alastair stuffs the takedown.
A head kick from Alastair lands but Jackson takes it in his stride.
Alastair lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jackson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That kick from Alastair tenderised Jackson's leg. Jackson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jackson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alastair.
Alastair throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Good leg kick by Alastair there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A telegraphed right hand from Alastair misses the target.
Jackson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Alastair, right into the meat.
Jackson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Jackson takes a kick to the side of the head.

Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alastair manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Alastair working a defensive guard but Jackson passes into half guard.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alastair defends it well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alastair flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Jackson is nestled in close to Alastair, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Alastair is defending well.

Jackson is working for a kimura but Alastair is defending it quite comfortably.
Jackson wants to pass to mount but Alastair is defending the position.

Alastair is trying to stand back up but Jackson is controlling him
Jackson is trying to control. Alastair wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Alastair on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jackson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Alastair does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Alastair wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alastair has managed to free his arm - good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alastair is trying to maintain the position but Jackson is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Alastair dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Jackson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Jackson dives in and grabs Alastair's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alastair pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.
Jackson's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Alastair lands a head kick. Jackson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alastair throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


Jackson is rocked!
Jackson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Alastair finish him?
Alastair throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alastair misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jackson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Alastair counters with a head kick that wobbles Jackson - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Alastair sends him down. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Alastair!
Alexander Alastair spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
