Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evander Tripp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greene's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Tiger rap by Andre Nikatina. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tripp's choice of entrance music: Bad Company - The Nine. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Evander Tripp!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tripp ducks under a wild hook from Greene.
Greene displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Greene lands with an overhand left.
A swing and a miss from Greene.
Greene displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tripp.
Greene cracks Tripp with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Tripp throws a lazy right hand but Greene sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Greene lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Greene looks to score with a jab to the body but Tripp is just out of range.
Tripp throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tripp looks to land a right hand but Greene moved out of range.
Greene jabs Tripp to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Greene misses with a wild combination.
Tripp walks into a jab.
Tripp scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Frank Greene has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tripp throws a jab but it's blocked by Greene.
Greene jabs at Tripp's body.
Tripp throws a lazy uppercut
and Greene counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Greene throws a good cross that connects.
Tripp on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Greene scores with a punch to the head.
Tripp misses with a wild body shot.
Greene scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Greene fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Greene fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tripp on the side of the head.
Tripp misses with a body shot.
Tripp throws a shot from downtown. Greene moves away and avoids it.
Greene misses with an uppercut. Tripp saw that one coming.
Greene walks into a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Greene lands a glancing blow to the side of Tripp's head.

Tripp pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Tripp gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Tripp takes a jab right on the kisser.
Tripp fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Greene throws out a powerful jab.
Greene staying out of range there.
Greene takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Tripp misses with a wild body shot.
Frank Greene is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tripp scores with a jab. Greene acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Greene just misses with a punch to the body.
Greene connects with a body shot.
A big right from Tripp misses.
Nice jab there from Greene.

Tripp throws the left hand but Greene avoids the punch easily.
Tripp has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tripp there as he acknowledges the shot.
Greene misses with a few strikes there.
Tripp misses with a straight right.
Greene is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tripp.
Tripp swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tripp lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Greene at a distance.
Tripp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tripp gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Greene slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Greene bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Tripp's head backwards.
Greene misses the jab.

Tripp darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Tripp is pressing down on Greene's thigh, looking to free his foot. Greene is holding on for now.
Greene keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tripp trying to control the action but Greene is working from the bottom.
Tripp throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tripp working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Tripp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tripp is trying to control. Greene wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Evander Tripp will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Frank Greene's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tripp uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Greene.
Tripp misses with a looping left.
Greene jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Greene connects with a jab.
Tripp shoots in looking for a takedown. Greene tries to sprawl out of it but Tripp keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Greene manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Greene takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Tripp feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Greenes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Greene stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Greene wants it to stay on the feet.
Greene throws a lazy right hand but Tripp sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Greene keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Tripp moves into range and connects with a jab.

Greene misses with a few strikes there.
Tripp fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Frank Greene has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evander Tripp.
Greene throws out a loose jab but Tripp uses good head movement to avoid it.
Greene with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tripp to score with a decent uppercut.
Tripp bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Greene swings widly with a right hand
and Tripp counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Greene thinking.
Greene just misses with a punch to the body.
Evander Tripp seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Tripp closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Greene quickly recovers to half guard.
Tripp thows a huge punch but Greene dodges it nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tripp throwing shots but Greene is blocking nicely.
Tripp is looking to take a break and control but Greene is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tripp prevents Greene from improving his position.
Greene pushes Tripp off looking to stand but Tripp dives back in and keeps control.
Tripp not doing much here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Tripp not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tripp tries to pass to full mount but Greene defends it.
Greene tries to kick Tripp off but Tripp keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Greene on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Greene is looking for a sweep. Tripp is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tripp is trying to control. Greene wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Tripp is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Greene won't allow Tripp to pass to mount.
Tripp thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Greene's head.
Greene blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tripp.
Greene looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tripp trying to control the action but Greene is working from the bottom.
Tripp content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Tripp thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tripp is trying to control. Greene wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Evander Tripp hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tripp takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Tripp connects with the punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Greene lands a head shot.

Tripp lands a big shot that drops Greene! Can he finish him?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evander Tripp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Frank Greene's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Greene is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Tripp doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Greene crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Greene's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Evander Tripp!
Evander Tripp tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
