Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Schmidt counters with an inside leg kick.
Schmidt doesn't manage to clinch there - Douglas circles away.
A punch combination from Douglas misses.
Douglas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Douglas.

It looks like John Schmidt has been cut.
Schmidt cracks a nice hook into Douglas's ribs.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Schmidt has eaten all the pies!

Schmidt will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Douglas up against the cage.

Schmidt is fighting off a takedown attempt but Douglas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Schmidt to the mat. Schmidt regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
