Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between SHANE SUGAR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Qaida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). SHANE SUGAR has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, SHANE SUGAR! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Qaida! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Qaida wants to clinch. SUGAR avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Qaida pushes SUGAR up against the cage in a clinch. Qaida tries for a takedown. No joy.
Qaida should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. A bit of stalling here from Qaida.
SUGAR has Qaida pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Qaida manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. SUGAR wants to break free but Qaida has control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Qaida cracks SUGAR with a nice body shot. Good body shot from Qaida.
SUGAR really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. SUGAR wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. SUGAR is trying to break the clinch but Qaida has him pressed against the cage. Qaida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Qaida shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says SUGAR as he avoids it easily. SUGAR gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Qaida counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Qaida. Qaida using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Qaida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
SUGAR with a poor takedown and Qaida counters with a nice double leg into side control. SUGAR won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for SHANE SUGAR. That's going to take a lot out of him. Qaida content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Qaida tries to advance to mount but SUGAR denies him. SUGAR can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Qaida wants to stand but SUGAR has his arm trapped. SUGAR manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Qaida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with SUGAR. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Qaida looks like he's trying to stand up.
Qaida is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Qaida looks gassed! SUGAR working the head and body with strikes. Qaida looks like he's trying to stand up.
Still in half guard, SUGAR seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. SUGAR is working for a kimura but Qaida is defending it quite comfortably.
Qaida is trying to stand up here but SUGAR is controlling him well. Qaida is refusing to be controlled, as SUGAR sits in half guard. Qaida is trying to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Qaida keeps control of the position for the meantime. Qaida regains full guard. Nicely done. Qaida pushes SUGAR off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Qaida with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Al Qaida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Qaida looks like he's thinking about clinching though. SUGAR shoots in for a double leg but Qaida sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Qaida doesn't succeed with the takedown and SUGAR counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Qaida down! SUGAR is looking to finish but Qaida is intelligently defending himself.
Qaida is rocked! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. SUGAR drops back looking for a leg! Qaida is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Qaida manages to kick SUGAR off! SUGAR jumps back into Qaida's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Qaida dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
SUGAR gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Qaida counters with an inside leg kick. SUGAR throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Qaida tries to clinch up and SUGAR counters with a series of strikes that sends Qaida to the canvas! SUGAR follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight! Qaida is still in real trouble! Can SUGAR finish him? SUGAR wants to control from the top but Qaida keeps moving. Qaida seems to have recovered his senses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. SUGAR is really struggling to control Qaida but he's trying to hold on to the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. SUGAR trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Qaida is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. SUGAR looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. SUGAR drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. SUGAR seems to have locked his on tight now - Qaida screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for SUGAR, as he picks up the win!
