Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uki Goshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Colt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liam Colt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Uki Goshi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Uki Goshi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Colt!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goshi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Colt is looking to clinch but Goshi is avoiding it.
Colt chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Goshi can pounce on him.
Colt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Goshi circles away.

Goshi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Goshi looks up at the clock and then as Colt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Goshi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
You can see the frustration on Colt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Goshi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Colt to his feet.
Colt shoots and misses

and Goshi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Colt!

Goshi wants to finish this one by submission but Colt is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Goshi.
Colt tries to improve his position but instead Goshi has taken his back!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Colt is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Goshi keeps control of the position as Colt tries to break free.
Colt turns into Goshi and is now in his guard.

Goshi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Colt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Colt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goshi wants to stand and escape but Colt is having none of it.
Colt wants to control from the top but Goshi keeps moving.
Goshi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Colt throws a big right hand that misses.
Goshi keeping moving, preventing Colt from controlling successfully.
Colt might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Goshi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Colt avoids a punch combination nicely.

Goshi clinches with his opponent.
A right hand to the body from Goshi.

Goshi decides to pull guard.
Colt wants to pass the guard but Goshi is keeping the position.
Colt looks gassed!

Colt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Colt has gone for a leg lock! Goshi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Colt's guard.

Goshi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Colt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Colt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Colt!
Goshi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Colt's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Goshi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Goshi looking for a sweep. Not yet Goshi, not yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Colt slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Goshi tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Goshi tries to reverse the position but Colt maintains control.
Goshi is working hard here to advance position.
Goshi manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Colt is trying to work for a kimura but Goshi is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uki Goshi dominated that round.
That's time! Goshi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Goshi lands a with a good body shot.
Colt doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Goshi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Goshi.
Goshi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Colt's guard.
Goshi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Colt is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Goshi pulls his head out easily.

Goshi wants to work for an arm triangle but Colt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Goshi decides to return to a standing position.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Goshi - that will leave a mark!

Colt scores with a takedown into Goshi's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Colt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Goshi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Colt passes Goshi's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Colt wants to work for an arm triangle but Goshi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Goshi gets full guard.

Goshi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Colt is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Goshi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Colt's back instead.
Colt breaks Goshi's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Colt sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Colt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Colt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goshi is on top in guard.

Colt pushes a forearm under Goshi's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Goshi is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Liam Colt!
