Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Mayhem!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor looks for the body kick but Mayhem saw that one coming.
Connor swats away the attempt to clinch by Mayhem.
Mayhem lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Connor circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice takedown defense from Connor. No joy for Mayhem on that attempt.
A punch combination from Connor misses.
Mayhem moves in looking to clinch but Connor pushes him off.
Mayhem tries to close the distance and clinch but Connor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mayhem tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Connor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Connor takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mayhem keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mayhem with a poor takedown
so Connor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Connor postures up and lands a big shot to Mayhem's brow.
Connor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mayhem dives on top into guard.
Connor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mayhem's guard.
Connor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Connor lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Connor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Connor stands up over Mayhem, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Connor looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Connor won't allow Mayhem to get back to his feet.
Connor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Mayhem is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mayhem looks gassed!
Connor trying to control but Mayhem is working from the bottom.
Mayhem wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Connor's hips, looking to push off. But Connor grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Mayhem screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
