And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Yakubiskaya!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yakubiskaya drives through with a takedown into Dir's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Yakubiskaya trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Yakubiskaya advances to half guard.
Yakubiskaya wants to free his trapped foot but Dir is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dir is trying to stand.
Yakubiskaya content to control rather than advance.
Yakubiskaya uses his free foot to push down on Dir's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dir.
Yakubiskaya breaks from Dir's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yakubiskaya punishing his opponent with strikes.
Dir is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Yakubiskaya looking to control and managing it successfully.

Yakubiskaya working for a submission but Dir is keeping him at bay.

Yakubiskaya working for a guillotine from mount but Dir is in no mood to give up.
Yakubiskaya lands a big shot there that rocks Dir but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yakubiskaya won't let Dir get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Yakubiskaya postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dir looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dir wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yakubiskaya controlling his opponent.
Dir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yakubiskaya on the ground.

Yakubiskaya looking to secure an arm triangle but Dir defends it well.
Yakubiskaya tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dir is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Yakubiskaya locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Dir is forced to tap!
