Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ozzy Stanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Cockburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanton comes to the cage accompanied by Start A War by Static-X. William Cockburn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ozzy Stanton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Cockburn!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stanton.
Cockburn misses with a takedown

and Stanton counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stanton winds up and cracks Cockburn with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cockburn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stanton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stanton's back!

Cockburn working for a choke but Stanton is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cockburn has the hooks in. Stanton is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Stanton is trying to shake Cockburn off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Cockburn won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Stanton shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cockburn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Stanton wants to pass the guard but Cockburn is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cockburn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cockburn looking for a guillotine here but Stanton defends easily.
Stanton postures up in Cockburn's guard and throws a big left but Cockburn blocks it.
Stanton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cockburn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Stanton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cockburn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stanton has managed to get both his arms back between Cockburn's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stanton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Cockburn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stanton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stanton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cockburn has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Stanton should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cockburn has tightened it up now! Stanton should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
