Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Vincent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leonidus Cesar! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cesar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vincent but Vincent pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vincent misses with the combination.
Vincent throws a combination that misses and Cesar counters with a three punch combo that has Vincent backing up. Vincent nods at Cesar to acknowledge the strikes. Vincent throws out a powerful jab. Cesar throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Cesar slips a jab and a cross from Vincent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vincent moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Leonidus Cesar has been cut. Cesar swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vincent cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A left lands for Vincent. Cesar tries for a takedown but Vincent circles away easily and Vincent counters with a series of strikes. Cesar will be more careful next time no doubt. Vincent thuds a left hand into Cesar's body. Cesar looks gassed! Vincent throws a low kick, looking for Cesar's leg but Cesar calmly moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vincent pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cesar gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Cesar tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Vincent is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Cesar buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Cesar!! Cesar is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Vincent throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Vincent! Michael Vincent decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
