Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Schill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abelinha Amarela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Monty Schill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abelinha Amarela!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amarela feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Monty Schill just wasn't active enough.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Abelinha Amarela.
Schill throws a sloppy head kick and Amarela moves out of range easily.
Amarela rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Schill counters with a nice uppercut.
Schill avoids a punch combination nicely.
Amarela stuffs the takedown.
Amarela moves out of range as Schill throws a body kick.
Schill swats away the attempt to clinch by Amarela.
Amarela throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Schill stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Amarela forces Schill back against the cage and clinches.

Schill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Amarela moves out of range as Schill throws a body kick.
Schill tries for a takedown but Amarela sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monty Schill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schill shoots in but Amarela avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Amarela fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Schill on the side of the head.
Schill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Amarela's waist but Amarela gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schill off to one side.
Amarela throws an overhand right that lands on Schill's shoulder, as Schill tries to avoid the shot.

Schill gets caught napping as Amarela dives in and scores a takedown. Schill manages to retain guard.

Schill looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Amarela trying to control the position from guard on top but Schill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Schill had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Amarela defends it easily.
Amarela trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Amarela accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Amarela wants to control from the top but Schill keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Schill throws the kick towards the body but Amarela avoids it.

and Amarela counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Monty Schill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schill throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Schill fails with a takedown attempt.
Amarela fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schill manages to avoid it.
Schill comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Amarela throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Schill tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Amarela is in Schill's guard.

Schill wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Amarela is now in half guard.
Schill is staying active underneath Amarela, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Schill is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Amarela is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amarela wants to work for an arm triangle but Schill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Amarela in particular looking to stall.

Amarela swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Schill shoots in for a takedown but Amarela shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Schill shoots in looking for a takedown. Amarela tries to sprawl out of it but Schill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Amarela manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abelinha Amarela showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Schill throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Amarela stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Amarela swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Schill.
Schill keeps the fight on the outside.
Amarela fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schill manages to avoid it.
Schill throws a head kick that misses.
Schill shoots in for a double leg but Amarela sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Schill misses with a low kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Schill lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Amarela has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Amarela and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Amarela takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Amarela closes the distance but Schill moves to the side
and Schill cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Schill shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Schill throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Amarela tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Schill was well out of range. Poor timing from Amarela.

Nice uppercut lands for Amarela. That snapped Schill's head back.

Schill darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Amarela can do anything to dispel that myth.
Schill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Amarela does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Schill is nestled in close to Amarela, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Schill wants to get back to his feet.
Amarela is looking for a sweep. Schill is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schill looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Amarela won't allow Schill to pass to mount.
Schill is thwarting Amarela's attempts to control the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Schill throws a looping overhand right but Amarela ducks down to avoid it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schill is defended easily by Amarela.

Amarela content to control rather than advance.

Amarela takes a little break here. Schill wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Amarela is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Schill is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Monty Schill has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Abelinha Amarela comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Amarela has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
