Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Misaaki Satake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Cocksmith! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Satake decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Satake trying to control the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Misaaki Satake. Satake shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cocksmith napping and manages to drive through into side control! Satake looks up at the clock and then as Cocksmith takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Satake smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Satake has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Satake's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Misaaki Satake wasn't doing enough on the ground. Satake darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Satake content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cocksmith is trying to control but Satake passes into side control!
Satake moves into full mount! Cocksmith wants to hold on but Satake pushes him away. Satake controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cocksmith working to try and regain half guard.
Satake takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Cocksmith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Satake unloading with bombs! Cocksmith is looking to improve his position but Satake isn't that keen on the idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Satake looking to control and managing it successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Satake pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Satake shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Satake sitting and controlling from the half guard. Cocksmith is trying to control but Satake manages to pass to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round. Satake avoids the attempt from Cocksmith to control. Satake controlling his opponent. Cocksmith is looking to improve his position but Satake isn't that keen on the idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Satake pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Satake controlling the pace for now. Satake landing strikes, looking to finish! Satake is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cocksmith can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Satake tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cocksmith takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Satake controlling his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Satake unloading with bombs! Satake controlling from mount. Satake dominating with strikes here. Satake in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Satake controlling his opponent. Satake scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Satake controlling the pace for now. Cocksmith wants to control but Satake is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Satake looking to control and managing it successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Misaaki Satake has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Satake shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cocksmith but Cocksmith pushes him off and we're back to square one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cocksmith moves in looking to clinch but Satake pushes him off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Misaaki Satake dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Satake fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cocksmith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Satake decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cocksmith's guard. Satake engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Satake trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Satake's corner is telling him to maintain position. Cocksmith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fighters circling - Cocksmith throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cocksmith tries to clinch there but Satake circles away.
Jeff Cocksmith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Satake changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cocksmith tries to avoid it but Satake manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cocksmith to the ground. Cocksmith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cocksmith fails in his attempt to clinch. Cocksmith shoots in looking for a takedown but Satake manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cocksmith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A jab from Satake misses. Cocksmith tries for a takedown but Satake circles away easily and Satake counters with a shoot takedown. Cocksmith fights it but they end up in guard. Misaaki Satake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Cocksmith. Cocksmith being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cocksmith is looking to stand up but Satake isn't so interested in that idea. Satake is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Misaaki Satake. Cocksmith gets caught flat footed, as Satake shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cocksmith controls Satake momentarily but Satake frees himself. Satake not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Satake throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Satake is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Cocksmith working a defensive guard here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jeff Cocksmith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Cocksmith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Satake as he jumps to the side. Cocksmith tries to clinch but Satake is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cocksmith fails with the takedown and Satake counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Satake is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cocksmith trying to keep a closed guard but Satake is proving a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Satake preventing the sweep. Jeff Cocksmith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

And that's the end of the fight! Misaaki Satake showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Satake, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
