Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Koscheck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Santos! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koscheck clinches up against the cage. Koscheck lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Koscheck scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Santos blocking the ground and pound attempt from Koscheck. Koscheck is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Santos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Koscheck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos won't allow Koscheck to pass to mount. Santos is looking to improve his position.
Koscheck thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Koscheck stands up and beckons Santos to join him on the feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koscheck doesn't manage to clinch there - Santos circles away.
Koscheck tries to clinch up but Santos circles away and keeps his distance. Koscheck closes the distance and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos wants the takedown. Koscheck is fighting it off but Santos persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Koscheck's guard against the cage. Santos won't allow Koscheck to sweep him here. Koscheck looking for a guillotine here but Santos defends easily.
Koscheck wants to stand up but Santos is controlling him. Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Koscheck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santos controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koscheck pushes a forearm under Santos's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Santos is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
