Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Pushkar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Anderson Jones has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francis Pushkar! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones wants to clinch but Pushkar slips to the side and Pushkar counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jones is lucky that one didn't land flush. Pushkar's corner calls for a 1-2. Pushkar obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pushkar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pushkar works the jab nicely. Pushkar throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. Jones fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pushkar gets the takedown into side control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Pushkar wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy. Jones is trying to escape the position but Pushkar is controlling the position. Pushkar tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well. Pushkar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pushkar is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones tries to buck Pushkar off but Pushkar is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is letting Pushkar control him for a moment. Jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Pushkar missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Pushkar is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pushkar to get the leverage. Jones tries to kick Pushkar off but Pushkar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pushkar seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pushkar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Pushkar is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pushkar to get the leverage. Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pushkar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pushkar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pushkar performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Pushkar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily. Pushkar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pushkar not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones is defending against the submission attempts here by Pushkar.
Pushkar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well. Pushkar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Pushkar eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jones throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Pushkar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pushkar stands up from guard. Let's bang! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Pushkar. Pushkar pushing out the jab but it's not landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Francis Pushkar dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Pushkar scores with a jab. Jones tries to clinch up. Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pushkar.
Jones staying out of range there. Pushkar lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Pushkar lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pushkar. Pushkar lands a jab. Pushkar throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Pushkar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Pushkar perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Pushkar seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt. This has been an exciting period of action! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pushkar in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones trying to control here.
Pushkar is working for a submission of some sort.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Pushkar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pushkar drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Pushkar off! Pushkar jumps back into Jones's guard. Pushkar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pushkar drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jones thows a huge punch but Pushkar dodges it nicely.
Pushkar tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control. Pushkar is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jones trying to control but Pushkar is working from the bottom. Pushkar is controlling Jones's posture. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones won't allow Pushkar to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pushkar has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Jones is looking to defend but Pushkar has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Jones! Pushkar pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Jones taps out and this one is all over!
