Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crimson Tide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crimson Tide has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crimson Tide!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Marek Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kowalski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tide's half guard.
Kowalski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tide knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kowalski on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marek Kowalski was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Tide looks to land a combination but Kowalski avoids it well.

Kowalski tries to keep at a distance but Tide has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tide breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kowalski manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tide on his heels. He'll look to pass Tide's guard now, I'm sure.
Kowalski won't allow Tide to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tide trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Kowalski works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kowalski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kowalski wants to free his trapped foot but Tide is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Tide wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kowalski prevents Tide from breaking the clinch.

Tide manages to break the clinch.
Crimson Tide is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tide displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kowalski.
Crimson Tide seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Marek Kowalski has been cut.
Tide throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tide will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tide clinches up against the cage.

Tide breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tide throws a combination. Kowalski tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tide gets in close and instigates a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tide breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kowalski takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crimson Tide dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Marek Kowalski's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tide lands a jab to Kowalski's midsection.
Kowalski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kowalski shoots for a takedown but Tide saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kowalski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

and Tide counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kowalski thinking.
Tide pounces like a tiger and cracks Kowalski with a vicious hook! Kowalski is down but not out! Tide follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Crimson Tide!
Crimson Tide seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
