PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tito Sotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Warm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sotto comes to the cage accompanied by It's A Fight - Three 6 Mafia. Warm is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Walk like an Egyptian. Luke Warm will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tito Sotto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Warm!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotto throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Warm.
Sotto takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Warm feints and as Sotto raises his hands in defense, Warm changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Warm is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Warm accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sotto utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Warm tries to free his leg and advance position but Sotto is retaining full guard.
Warm is looking to work some ground and pound but Sotto has wrist control.
Warm controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sotto avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sotto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Warm controls the pace.
Sotto wants to stand but Warm is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Warm controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sotto throws a sloppy head kick and Warm moves out of range easily.
Sotto lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sotto throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sotto throws a combination that misses
enabling Warm to counter with a crisp jab.
Warm lands the left hand.

Sotto gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Warm to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Warm trying to control the position from guard on top but Sotto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Warm drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sotto dives on top into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sotto has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Warm is proving hard to escape from.
Warm trying to strike off his back.
Sotto wants to control from the top but Warm keeps moving.
Sotto won't allow Warm to sweep him here.
Warm controls Sotto momentarily but Sotto frees himself.
Warm looking for a sweep. Not yet Warm, not yet.
Warm is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sotto trying to stand up but can't free himself from Warm's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tito Sotto just wasn't active enough.
Sotto misses with a right hand
and Warm cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Warm slips a jab from Sotto.
Sotto fails with the takedown

and Warm counters with a single leg into guard. Sotto didn't expect that.
Sotto keeping moving, preventing Warm from controlling successfully.
Warm sitting in guard here, content to control.
Warm throwing strikes but missing.
Sotto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Warm working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Warm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sotto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Warm trying to control but Sotto is working from the bottom.
Warm not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Luke Warm has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Sotto throws a lazy head kick
and Sotto takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head kick by Sotto misses
and Warm counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sotto throws a sloppy head kick and Warm moves out of range easily.
Warm throws a hook but Sotto blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Warm dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Warm lands with a nice body punch.
Tito Sotto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warm looks to throw the jab but Sotto is out of range.
Warm swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Warm blocks a head kick by Sotto.
Sotto throws out a leg kick but Warm moves out of range and Sotto only half commits.
Sotto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Warm counters with a nice uppercut.
Sotto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sotto closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Sloppy strikes from Sotto. Those never looked like landing.
Tito Sotto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sotto takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Sotto gets caught napping as Warm dives in and scores a takedown. Sotto manages to retain guard.
Warm wants to control from the top but Sotto keeps moving.
Warm pushing down on Sotto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sotto is refusing to be controlled, as Warm sits in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Warm is nestled in close to Sotto, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sotto keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Warm is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sotto has managed to free his arm - good work.
Warm wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sotto keeps working.
Sotto looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sotto is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Warm scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Warm prevents Sotto from standing back up.
Warm frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sotto really wants to buck Warm off and get back to his feet.
Warm landing strikes, looking to finish!
Warm is in the full mount, landing strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Warm raining down hammerfists from mount.


Sotto is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Warm! Sotto is hurt baaadly! Warm is firing away with more strikes - Sotto is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Warm!
Luke Warm tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
