Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Oliver Queen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joseph Canas!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Canas moves into the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Queen.
Canas drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Queen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Queen stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Canas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Queen smiles and moves away.
Canas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Queen circles away quickly and effectively.
Canas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Queen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Oliver Queen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Canas.
Canas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Queen swivels and escapes.

Queen closes the distance and pushes Canas back into the cage.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Oliver Queen.
Queen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Canas fails with the takedown
and Queen counters with a left and a right that stings Canas.
Canas slips a jab and a cross from Queen.
Canas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Queen circles away.
Queen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Canas swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Canas rushes Queen and presses him up against the cage.
Canas is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Queen to keep the fight standing.
Queen effectively controlling the action here.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Oliver Queen.
Queen stuffs the takedown.
Canas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Queen counters with a three punch combo that has Canas backing up. Canas nods at Queen to acknowledge the strikes.

Canas tries to keep at a distance but Queen has taken the fight into the clinch.

Queen is pushing Canas up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Canas tries to pull guard but Queen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Queen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Queen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Canas can't fight it off and eventually Queen manages to take the fight to the floor. Canas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Queen wants to stand but Canas is controlling his posture from full guard.

Canas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Queen defends it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Canas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Queen tries to hold on but Canas pushes him away.

Canas throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Queen has his hands clasped together but Canas breaks the hold and Queen is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Canas!
