Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Wheaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Wheaton! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wheaton misses with a few strikes there.
Diaz cracks the inside of Wheaton's front leg. Diaz scores with a jab. Wheaton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Wheaton moves out of range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Wheaton scores with a punch to the head. Wheaton avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Wheaton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diaz checks a leg kick nicely. Horrible takedown by Wheaton or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad. Wheaton throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz throws a right hand that Wheaton ducks under and follows up with a left that Wheaton also avoids with ease. Diaz tries to bum rush Wheaton with a series of wild strikes but Wheaton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wheaton gets a takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Wheaton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Wheaton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wheaton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diaz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wheaton controlling the action here. Wheaton is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diaz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wheaton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wheaton's back! Diaz is working for a rear naked choke. Wheaton is not defending it well and Diaz has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Wheaton refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Wheaton's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Diaz! Nick Diaz bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
