Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesu Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Kobel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesu Guzman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrone Kobel!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guzman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kobel swivels and escapes.
Kobel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Guzman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A combination from Kobel does no damage.
Guzman shoots in but Kobel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesu Guzman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guzman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kobel as he avoids it easily.
Guzman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kobel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kobel tries to bum rush Guzman with a series of wild strikes but Guzman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Guzman closes the distance and clinches up with Kobel, looking for a takedown. Guzman pushes Kobel against the cage but Kobel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Guzman shoots in but no luck this time.
Guzman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Guzman shoots for a double leg takedown but Kobel sprawls well. He's pushed Guzman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Guzman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kobel pinned against the cage. Kobel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Guzman or perhaps it was just good defense by Kobel which made him look bad.

Kobel stuffs the takedown attempt from Guzman. Guzman gets slowly back to his feet.
Kobel throws a right and a left that Guzman avoids nicely.
Guzman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kobel pinned against the cage. Kobel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Guzman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
No joy there for Kobel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Guzman shoots in looking for a takedown. Kobel tries to sprawl out of it but Guzman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kobel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Guzman feints and as Kobel raises his hands in defense, Guzman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kobel wants to stand but Guzman is controlling the position.

Guzman drops back looking for a leg! Kobel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kobel manages to kick Guzman off! Guzman jumps back into Kobel's guard.

Guzman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Guzman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Guzman passes to side control.
Kobel is trying to buck Guzman off.
Guzman advances to mount.

Guzman has control of Kobel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kobel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Guzman looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Guzman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kobel can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kobel tries to buck Guzman off but he can't manage it.

Guzman looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kobel is trying to stand up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kobel is trying to get back to his feet.

Guzman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kobel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kobel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Guzman has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kobel!
Kobel is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Kobel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guzman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kobel is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Guzman has isolated one of Kobel's arms. Kobel looking to fight him off but Guzman twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
