Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pipoy Palay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Gannon! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gannon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Palay swivels and escapes. Gannon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gannon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Palay to the mat! Palay manages to get full guard. Gannon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Palay works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gannon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gannon tries to free his leg and advance position but Palay is retaining full guard. Gannon throws a big right hand that misses. Gannon with a flurry of punches that miss. Gannon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Palay not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Palay is breathing heavily. Gannon throwing strikes but missing. Gannon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Palay works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palay utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gannon throws a strike but Palay rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Gannon striking off his back but it's not causing Palay any problems. Gannon throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Palay prevents Gannon from improving his position. Gannon slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Gannon is looking to sweep but instead, Palay has passed into half guard.

Palay blocks the strikes from Gannon.
Gannon wants to get back to full guard but Palay has mounted him! Gannon is looking to improve his position but Palay isn't that keen on the idea. Palay trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palay prevents Gannon from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Gannon dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gannon shoots in for a double leg but Palay sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Palay fails to land the takedown. Gannon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gannon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gannon thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gannon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Palay's face.
Palay is in a horrible position here. Gannon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gannon raining down hammerfists from mount. Gannon is landing with some decent strikes but Palay is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Palay wants to control but Gannon is having none of it. Gannon with a couple of short strikes. Gannon working the ground and pound effectively.
Palay manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gannon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gannon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Palay with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gannon connects with a nice short shot to Palay's temple. Palay is positioning himself well to prevent Gannon advancing to mount. Palay keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gannon throwing shots but Palay is blocking nicely. Gannon scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Palay gets back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Palay working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gannon. Palay lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gannon! Gannon is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Gannon is looking to improve his position but Palay isn't that keen on the idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Palay takes Gannon's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Gannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Palay tries to clinch up. Palay fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gannon shoots in and gets a takedown into Palay's guard. Gannon throws a strike but Palay rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Gannon throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gannon is positioning himself to get back to half guard. A lull in the action here. Gannon struggling a bit here. Gannon tries to buck Palay off but Palay is having none of it. Luke Gannon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gannon scores with a takedown into Palay's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gannon throws an elbow that misses. Palay uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gannon's guard. Nice move by Palay! Gannon trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Palay won't allow Gannon to sweep him here. Gannon is striking from the bottom but Palay uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palay is looking to take a break and control but Gannon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gannon wants to control but Palay passes into side.
Gannon is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Palay avoids the strikes from the bottom by Gannon.
And that's the end of the fight! Luke Gannon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gannon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
