The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heggs moves into the clinch.
Heggs gets through Cowell's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Heggs lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cowell backwards.
A right handed body shot lands from Heggs.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Heggs.
Cowell tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Heggs lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Cowell wants a takedown but no success here.
Heggs lands a hook to the side of the head.
Heggs gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cowell.

Cowell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Heggs to keep the fight standing.

Heggs clinches up with Cowell and pushes him back against the cage.

Cowell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Heggs uses from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Cowell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Heggs escapes and throws Cowell's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Heggs is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cowell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Heggs defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luther Heggs will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cowell misses with a right hand
and Heggs counters with a nice body kick.
Cowell takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Anderson Cowell has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cowell looks to land a right hand but Heggs moved out of range.
Cowell tries a head kick but it misses.
Jab by Cowell.
Cowell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Heggs misses with a looping right.
Cowell loads up on a big right hand but Heggs slips the punch.
Cowell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Heggs as he jumps to the side.
Cowell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cowell throws an off balance right hand
and Heggs comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Cowell stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Heggs is on him like rabid pit bull! Cowell slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
