Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gregg Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Esposito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Downtown Swinga 96 by MOP. Gregg Valentine has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Esposito! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Valentine. Esposito shrugs it off though. Esposito throws an overhand right that lands on Valentine's shoulder, as Valentine tries to avoid the shot. Esposito connects with an inside leg kick. Valentine moves out of range of the strikes. Valentine misses the jab. Esposito misses with an uppercut. Valentine saw that one coming. Valentine scores with a leg kick.
Esposito thuds his right hand into Valentine's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Gregg Valentine has been cut. Valentine attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Valentine scoring well with a low kick there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Esposito blocking some punches.

Valentine makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Valentine lands a right hand that snaps the head of Esposito backwards. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. OK we're going to have a standup here. Frank Esposito hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Esposito throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Esposito throws a lazy right hand but Valentine sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valentine is defended easily by Esposito.

and Esposito counters with a lovely shot to the body. Valentine on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Esposito. Esposito obviously looking to wear him down.

The crowd cheers as Valentine lands an impressive looking overhand right. Esposito doesn't seem phased though. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A decent looking cross lands there for Valentine. A telegraphed right hand from Valentine misses the target. Esposito throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Esposito will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Gregg Valentine's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Esposito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Valentine lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Esposito stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Esposito misses with a low kick as Valentine jumps back. Esposito defending well as Valentine loads up on a big left hand.

Gregg Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valentine avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Valentine ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Esposito scores with a leg kick.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Esposito is looking to control Valentine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Esposito avoid being mounted? Valentine thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Esposito's head. Esposito wants to improve his position but Valentine is controlling well.

Frank Esposito is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Valentine tries to free his leg and advance position but Esposito is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Valentine accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Valentine is looking to work some ground and pound but Esposito has wrist control.
