The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Givens feints and then cracks Zook's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zook down.
Givens cracks Zook with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Givens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Givens is trying to ground and pound but Zook uses the momentary lack of control by Givens to regain half guard.

Givens has his foot on Zook's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Zook works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Solomon Zook.
