Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Tarik Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filipo Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatu has chosen Fire Flame - Birdman as his entrance music. Filipo Fatu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tarik Gibson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Filipo Fatu! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson tried to score with a low kick but Fatu checks it. Fatu throws a leg kick that misses. Gibson throws the left hand but Fatu avoids the punch easily. Gibson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A head kick misses from Gibson. Fatu looks to throw the jab but Gibson is out of range. Gibson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fatu. Fatu takes a shot right to the bread basket. Fatu throws a looping overhand right but Gibson ducks down to avoid it. Gibson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fatu sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gibson misses with a low kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Fatu as he connects with a hook. Gibson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Gibson scores with a leg kick.
Gibson misses with a straight right. Gibson moves out of range as Fatu throws a body kick.
Gibson misses with a low kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gibson motions for Fatu to come forward. Gibson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. The fighters circling - Gibson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Fatu throws a low kick, looking for Gibson's leg but Gibson calmly moves out of range. Gibson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fatu wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nice straight punches there by Fatu. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fatu. Gibson throws a looping overhand right but Fatu ducks down to avoid it. Fatu slips a straight right by Gibson. The fighters circling - Fatu throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gibson slips a jab from Fatu. No joy there for Fatu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gibson is looking to chop away at Fatu's legs. Fatu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gibson.

Fatu looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Gibson thows a body shot but no joy. Jab by Fatu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibson throws a hook but Fatu avoids it easily. Gibson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Fatu takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Filipo Fatu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fatu dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Fatu misses with a low kick as Gibson jumps back. Fatu getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Gibson lands a jab. Gibson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fatu. Gibson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Gibson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Gibson misses with a low kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fatu throws a leg kick that misses. Some bone on bone action there as Gibson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Fatu connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gibson's hands. Fatu misses with an attempted mid kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tarik Gibson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gibson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gibson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fatu doesn't seem bothered though. Gibson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fatu is rocked! Gibson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Fatu is still on wobbly legs! Can Gibson finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Fatu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gibson. Gibson lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Fatu crumples to the floor! Gibson milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tarik Gibson!
