Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Funk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Safdar Al Razi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Safdar Al Razi! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Funk. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Funk working over Al Razi with some ground and pound. Al Razi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Funk stands up out of the half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Al Razi feints and then cracks Funk's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Funk down. Al Razi misses with a kick to the body.

Al Razi is fighting to maintain full guard but Funk has managed to sneak the leg through. Funk is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Al Razi sees it coming and defends easily. Funk wants to stand up but Al Razi is controlling the position.
Al Razi works his way to full guard. Good work. Funk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Al Razi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Funk defends it easily. Funk throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Funk postures up and lands a big shot to Al Razi's brow. Funk is looking to work some ground and pound but Al Razi has wrist control. Al Razi looking for a guillotine here but Funk defends easily.
Funk advances to half guard. Al Razi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Funk landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Funk throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Al Razi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Funk pulls his head out easily. Funk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Funk is working for a submission of some sort.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Funk passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Al Razi!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Funk with a couple of short strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Al Razi is trying to escape the mount.

Funk is looking for a kimura but Al Razi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Funk to get the leverage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Funk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Al Razi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Al Razi. Al Razi is looking for a triangle but Funk pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Funk dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Nice takedown defense from Al Razi. No joy for Funk on that attempt. Funk shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Al Razi defends it nicely. The fight stays on the outside here - Al Razi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Funk shoots in looking for a takedown. Al Razi tries to sprawl out of it but Funk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Al Razi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Funk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Al Razi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Funk but Funk pushes him off and we're back to square one. Al Razi throws a right hand that Funk ducks under and follows up with a left that Funk also avoids with ease. Funk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Funk manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Al Razi on his heels. He'll look to pass Al Razi's guard now, I'm sure. Funk passes Al Razi's left leg - he's now in half guard. Frank Funk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Al Razi looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Al Razi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Al Razi. Al Razi pushes a forearm under Funk's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Funk is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
