Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thiago takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Thiago looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Danga de danga de dang - Helano scores with a four punch combination!
Helano closes the distance and clinches up with Thiago, looking for a takedown. Helano pushes Thiago against the cage but Thiago circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thiago tries to keep at a distance but Helano has taken the fight into the clinch.
Thiago is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Helano gets through Thiago's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Thiago goes for a takedown in the clinch but Helano prevents it.

Thiago has Helano pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Helano manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Helano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thiago pinned against the cage. Thiago gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gustavo Helano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Helano will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Helano shoots for a takedown but Thiago saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thiago wants to get back to his feet but Helano is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Helano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thiago doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thiago manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Helano closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Helano takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Thiago is trying to stand.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Helano connects with a nice short shot to Thiago's temple.

A head kick from Helano lands but Thiago takes it in his stride.

Helano is looking to control Thiago's arms but Thiago gets an underhook and turns him. Now Helano has his back to the cage.

Oh but Helano is tightening it up a little... Thiago has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Thiago reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Thiago taps out! Nice BJJ there by Helano!
