The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurjas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Riviera regains full guard. Nicely done.
Riviera on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Riviera tries to get out of the position.
Riviera wants to sweep but no luck.
Nurjas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Riviera looking for a guillotine here but Nurjas defends easily.
Riviera looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Riviera is working hard here to advance position.
Riviera pulls Nurjas in close to prevent any damage.

Riviera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nurjas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nurjas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nurjas won't allow Riviera to sweep him here.
Riviera is pulling down on Nurjas's head. It's preventing any offense from Nurjas, at least for the moment.
Nurjas wants to stand and escape but instead Riviera has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Nurjas working for a triangle but Riviera defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riviera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nurjas's guard.
Nurjas wants to get back to full guard.
Riviera maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Nurjas could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Riviera has cracked it and Nurjas is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Riviera!

Jonathan Riviera spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
