Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uchi Mata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mata lands a nice leg kick that just misses Couture's sensitive parts.
Mata with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Couture throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Couture throws a nice looking combination but Mata bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Couture moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Couture will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mata pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Couture checks a low kick from Mata.
Couture stuns Mata with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mata drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mata tries to free his leg and advance position but Couture is retaining full guard.

Mata is looking to take a break and control but Couture is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mata thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mata tries to stand and escape but Couture is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mata working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Couture's thigh. Couture counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Mata drops back looking for a leg! Couture is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Couture manages to kick Mata off! Mata jumps back into Couture's guard.
Couture wants to stand and escape but Mata is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Couture scores with a one two! Mata had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mata closes the distance and clinches up with Couture, looking for a takedown. Mata pushes Couture against the cage but Couture circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mata throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Couture looks to land a combination but Mata avoids it well.
Couture blocks a low kick nicely.
A punch combination from Couture misses.

Couture controls Mata momentarily but Mata frees himself.
Mata decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Couture cracks Mata with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Couture thuds a left hand into Mata's body.
Couture takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Couture throws a nice looking combination but Mata bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No luck for Mata with that takedown attempt.
A right-left combo lands from Couture.
Couture lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Couture.
Couture shoots in but Mata avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mata dodges the punch combination from Couture.
Couture takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Couture dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Couture tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Couture avoids the head kick by Mata.
Mata throws and low kick but Couture moves out of range easily.
Mata throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mata throws a leg kick but Couture checks it.
Couture jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Couture throws a right hand that Mata ducks under and follows up with a left that Mata also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mata throws the kick towards the body but Couture avoids it.
Uchi Mata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mata is looking to clinch but Couture is avoiding it.

Mata buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Mata looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mata connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Couture misses with a few strikes there.
Mata will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Couture's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Mata swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mata takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Couture lands with an overhand left.
Mata throws a head kick but Couture moves out of range.
Mata does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Couture throws a combination that misses
and Mata counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Couture lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Couture.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mata throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Couture scores with a one two! Mata had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mata tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mata throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Couture lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Good exchange - Couture coming out on top.
Mata is rocked!
Mata doesn't manage to clinch there - Couture circles away.
Oh Mata is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Couture throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mata.
Brandon Couture seems to be getting the better of the standup.
BOOM! Couture lands a beautiful left hook that drops Mata. Mata tries to recover but Couture is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Mata lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
