Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Factor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Factor comes to the cage accompanied by X. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Factor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mir shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Factor's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Factor is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mir dives into side control.
Factor regains half guard, as Mir was trying to land strikes.
Ground and pound from Mir.
Mir tries to pass the half guard into mount. Factor knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Factor is trying to stand up here but Mir is controlling him well.

Mir seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Factor won't allow Mir to pass to mount.
Mir keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Mir postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Factor to stand up.
Max Factor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Factor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mir.

Mir shoots in for a double leg but Factor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Factor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mir manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Factor throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease.
Mir shoots in for a double leg but Factor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Factor swivels and escapes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Frank Mir will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Factor tries to clinch up but Mir circles away and keeps his distance.
Mir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Factor scores with the left hand. Mir knows he should have avoided that one.
Mir lands a jab-cross combination.
Factor connects with a nice looking jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
No joy there for Factor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Factor paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Factor throws a hook but Mir avoids it easily.
Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Factor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Factor tries to stand but Mir is controlling from the bottom.
Factor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Factor decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Horrible takedown by Mir or perhaps it was just good defense by Factor which made him look bad.
Mir lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Factor circles away quickly and effectively.

Factor lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Mir counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mir is looking to stand up but Factor won't let him.
Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Factor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mir is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Factor keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Frank Mir has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mir fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Factor avoids it really well and circles away.
Mir will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mir feints and as Factor raises his hands in defense, Mir changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mir postures up in Factor's guard and throws a big left but Factor blocks it.
Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Factor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Factor wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mir is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mir has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Factor avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mir jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Factor walks away with a smile on his face. Mir gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Factor sprawls well. Factor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mir gets slowly back to his feet.

Factor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mir swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mir takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Factor is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Factor circles away and we're back to standing.
Factor is looking to clinch.
Mir wants to stay close but Factor steps back to make room for something. Mir seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Factor and Mir drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Max Factor!
An out of breath Max Factor thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
