Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Villia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Villia is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Maia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Villia! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Villia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Villia wants to clinch but Maia slips to the side and Maia counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Villia! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Maia cracks Villia with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Villia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maia controlling the position easily from mount. Villia tries to hold on but Maia postures up. Villia is looking to improve his position but Maia isn't that keen on the idea. Maia wants to control the pace but Villia is squirming around nicely. Maia controlling his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villia is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Villia taking shots to the head. Maia trying to control but Villia is having none of it. Maia punishing his opponent with strikes. Villia tries to reverse the position but Maia maintains control. Villia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Maia looking to secure an arm triangle but Villia defends it well. Maia goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Villia is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia keeping moving, preventing Villia from controlling successfully. Maia has his feet on Villia's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Villia lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maia swats away the attempt to clinch by Villia. Villia looks to clinch and Maia counters with a one-two to the body. Villia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maia sprawls well. Maia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Villia gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia wants to clinch but Villia slips to the side and Villia counters with a three punch combo that has Maia backing up. Maia nods at Villia to acknowledge the strikes. Villia is looking to clinch. Villia is looking to clinch. Villia scores with a three punch combo!
Villia fails with the takedown. Villia is looking to clinch. Villia fails miserably with a takedown attempt. John Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Villia. Villia tries to clinch up but Maia circles away and keeps his distance. Maia moves in looking to clinch but Villia pushes him off. Villia misses with a takedown and Maia counters with a single leg into guard. Villia didn't expect that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Villia has momentary wrist control but Maia slips an elbow through the middle. Maia stands up from Villia's guard - Maia perhaps looking for a knockout. Villia lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Maia at a distance.
Maia lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Villia is rocked! Villia misses with a looping right. Villia is still on wobbly legs! Can Maia finish him? Maia gets a double leg takedown into Villia's guard. Maia gets to his feet - Villia follows without any prompting. Villia closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maia circles away. Villia looks gassed! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maia throws a quick head kick that knocks Villia silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Maia is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
