Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Soul Reaper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reaper comes to the cage accompanied by ayatolla. The key to victory for Soul Reaper has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Soul Reaper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Potts!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potts feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Potts missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Potts trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Potts is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Reaper being controlled here, momentarily.

Potts drops back looking for a leg! Reaper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reaper manages to kick Potts off! Potts jumps back into Reaper's guard.

Reaper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Potts trying to control the position from guard on top but Reaper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Potts tries to clinch there but Reaper circles away.
Potts moves in looking to clinch but Reaper pushes him off.
Potts tries to clinch but Reaper is having none of it.
Paul Potts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potts scores with a takedown into Reaper's guard.
Potts tries to free his leg and advance position but Reaper is retaining full guard.

Potts is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reaper is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reaper has escaped and now he's on top!

Reaper looking to sit in guard and control but Potts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Reaper trying to keep a closed guard but Potts is proving a slippery customer.
Potts pushes down on Reaper's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Potts wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reaper keeps working.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Potts is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Reaper as he works his way to full guard.

Reaper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Potts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Reaper keeping moving, preventing Potts from controlling successfully.
Potts sitting in guard here, content to control.
Potts scoring with punches to the head and body.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Potts controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Potts works over Reaper with some ground and pound from guard.

Potts drops back looking for a leg! Reaper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reaper manages to kick Potts off! Potts jumps back into Reaper's guard.

Potts works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Reaper is not content to let Potts control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Potts dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Potts throws a head kick but Reaper moves out of range.
Potts misses with a series of wild punches.
Potts tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Reaper tries for a takedown but Potts circles away easily

and Potts counters with a nice double leg into side control. Reaper won't be happy with that.
Potts works to advance to full mount. Reaper defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reaper is desperately trying to improve his position but Potts has a good base and remains in mount.
Potts trying to control but Reaper is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potts might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Reaper kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Poor strikes thrown by Potts there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Potts can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reaper is looking to escape.

Potts jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Reaper is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Reaper and Potts has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Reaper stops Potts from passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Potts working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Potts tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Potts has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Reaper manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Potts trying to control from half guard but Reaper is working away.

Potts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reaper doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Potts.

Potts is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Potts is looking for a kimura here.
Potts throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Potts seems to be working for a kimura but Reaper defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Potts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Reaper keeps the fight on the outside.
Potts lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Potts fails with an attempt to clinch.
Reaper fails with the takedown

and Potts counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reaper regains half guard there - taking advantage of Potts's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Potts is working for a submission of some sort.
Potts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Potts is keen to just control but Reaper is a slippery customer.
Potts moves into full mount! Reaper won't be happy about that!

Potts moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Reaper has worked his arm free - good work by Reaper!
Potts trying to control the action but Reaper is working from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Reaper is trying to get back to half guard.
Potts is looking to take a break and control but Reaper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Potts goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Reaper has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Potts but great work by Reaper.

Reaper cracks Potts with a big elbow.
Potts gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Potts is trying to get back to full guard.
Reaper is tying to control. Potts wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Potts looking for a kimura from the bottom but Reaper passes into side control!
Potts tries to bench press Reaper off him but Reaper keeps the position.
Soul Reaper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Potts gets back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Potts regains full guard. Nicely done.

Potts is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Reaper rolls with it to try and escape but Potts cranks on the arm and Reaper is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
