Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Corral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royce Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio Corral!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Corral's waist but Corral gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
Corral looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.

Corral closes the distance and clinches.
Gracie gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Corral.

Corral escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gracie shoots in and bounces Corral off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Corral is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie scoring with some ground and pound.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Corral looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Corral looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Corral!
Corral taking a breather here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Corral stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet.
Corral tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gracie trying to advance position but Corral counters by regaining guard.

Corral working for submissions but it's allowed Gracie to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Corral is pressing down on Gracie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Gracie is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie preventing the sweep.
Corral is working hard here to advance position.
Corral is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Corral is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Corral is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gracie gets the takedown into side control.
Corral can't do much from the bottom here.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Corral is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Corral, who protects the arm well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Corral manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Gracie works his way into side control.
Corral prevents Gracie from improving position.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Royce Gracie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Corral is in trouble now - Gracie has advanced to mount!

Gracie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Corral can't escape the position.
Corral knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie working for a guillotine from mount but Corral is in no mood to give up.
The referee warns Corral that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Corral is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Royce Gracie!
