Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joseph McKay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Kross! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKay has his takedown stuffed and Kross counters by moving into the clinch. McKay has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kross avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Kross lands a body punch. McKay is breathing heavily. Kross lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. McKay tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kross just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph McKay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kross tries to throw a body punch but McKay avoids it by throwing Kross back against the cage. Kross breaks from the clinch.
Kross tries to close the distance and clinch up but McKay swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kross tries to clinch there but McKay circles away.

Kross feints a jab promting McKay to slip. Kross then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McKay slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Kross drives through and clinches with McKay against the cage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kross has dropped down and is working for a takedown. McKay is trying to keep an underhook but Kross manages to get the takedown into half guard. Kross scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kross is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kross lands a nice short elbow. Kross not landing any meaningful shots this time. McKay actively working from the bottom here. Ground and pound from Kross. Kross is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. McKay wants to improve his position but Kross is controlling well.

McKay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kross passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McKay! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kross lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McKay is rocked! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McKay is looking to improve his position but Kross isn't that keen on the idea. Oh McKay is still in real trouble! McKay slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Kross wants to control but McKay is keeping him busy. McKay seems to have got his legs back now. And that's the end of the fight! Michael Kross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kross has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
