Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vasya Pupkovskiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denzel Rain Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pupkovskiy's entrance music is KAZAKI IN THE...MIDdLE. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasya Pupkovskiy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denzel Rain Man!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pupkovskiy tries a head kick but it misses.
Rain Man shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pupkovskiy but Pupkovskiy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rain Man throws a head kick but Pupkovskiy moves out of range.
Pupkovskiy slaps away a takedown attempt from Rain Man, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rain Man throws out a powerful jab.
Pupkovskiy throws a sloppy head kick and Rain Man moves out of range easily.
Pupkovskiy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Rain Man closes the distance and pushes Pupkovskiy back into the cage.

Pupkovskiy is trying to push Rain Man away but Rain Man has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Rain Man gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rain Man seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Pupkovskiy wants to stand and escape but Rain Man is having none of it.
Rain Man wants to pass the guard but Pupkovskiy is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Denzel Rain Man.

Denzel Rain Man showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vasya Pupkovskiy.
I think Rain Man has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
