PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durdun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Marko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Durdun might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Where is My Mind. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Durdun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Marko!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marko shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Durdun sprawls well. Durdun wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marko gets slowly back to his feet.
Durdun circles away from the clinch attempt.
Durdun leaves Marko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Durdun slaps away a takedown attempt from Marko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tyler Durdun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Marko.
Marko shoots in but Durdun avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Marko swings widly with a right hand
and Durdun counters with a good low kick that Marko was not able to check.
Marko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Marko shoots in for a double leg but Durdun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Marko looks gassed!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Marko is defended easily by Durdun.

Marko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Durdun was covering up waiting for the punch and Marko finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Durdun bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marko's guard.
Durdun is looking to stand up but Marko won't let him.
Durdun seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Marko has his foot on Durdun's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Durdun works his way back into a safe position though.

Durdun wants to stand but Marko is controlling his posture from full guard.

Marko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Durdun defends well.
Durdun seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Marko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Durdun can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Durdun is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Durdun wants to stand but Marko is controlling his posture from full guard.

Marko is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Durdun has his hands clasped together but Marko extends an breaks Durdun's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Marko.
