Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bible Basher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by National Anthem. David Diaz had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bible Basher!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Basher which made him look bad.
Basher shoots in and drives through. Diaz sprawls well.

Diaz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Basher looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Basher is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Diaz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Diaz's back!

Basher working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Diaz is in bad spot here.
Basher doesn't have the hooks in and Diaz manages to turn into his guard.

Diaz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Basher, up you get!
Diaz has his takedown stuffed

and Basher counters with a shoot takedown. Diaz fights it but they end up in guard.
Diaz is breathing heavily.

Basher drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Basher off! Basher jumps back into Diaz's guard.

Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Basher is controlling him.

Basher is looking to work some ground and pound but Diaz has wrist control.
Diaz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Diaz tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Basher thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Basher working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Diaz's head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Basher feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Basher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Basher wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.

Basher thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz trying to keep a closed guard but Basher is proving a slippery customer.
Diaz keeping full guard, as Basher tries to pass.
Diaz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Basher's guard.

Basher has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.
Diaz lands a couple of elbows.
Diaz is in close to Basher's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Basher not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Diaz trying to control but Basher is working from the bottom.
Basher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Basher wants to work for an arm triangle but Diaz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Basher is working for a kimura but Diaz is defending it quite comfortably.
Diaz is trying to maintain the position but Basher is very close to passing his half guard.
Diaz moves into full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bible Basher dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Diaz throws a sloppy head kick

and Basher decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Diaz's guard.
Basher advances to half guard.
Diaz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Diaz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Diaz keeping control of the position.

Basher seems to be looking for submissions.
Basher is keen to just control but Diaz is a slippery customer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Basher trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom.

Basher is working for a submission of some sort.
Basher is tying to control. Diaz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Basher is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Basher trying to control from half guard but Diaz is working away.
Basher works his way into full mount!

Basher has hold of Diaz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Diaz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Basher is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Basher counters with a takedown into side control.
Basher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Basher is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Basher wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diaz, who protects the arm well.
Bible Basher has got the better of the ground game so far.
Diaz throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Diaz manages to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Basher is trying to work for a kimura but Diaz is defending well.
Diaz gets full guard.
Diaz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Basher wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.

Basher postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Basher, into his guard.

Basher is looking to sinch up a triangle. Diaz throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Basher's body to avoid the submission. Basher has instead reached around Diaz's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Basher arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bible Basher!
