PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Misual Lalpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lalpa has chosen Seek n Destroy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Misual Lalpa!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lalpa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Fox counters by clinching up.
Fox throws a knee to the head but misses.
Fox throws a head punch that misses.

Fox manages to pull guard.

Lalpa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fox, up you get!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lalpa is defended easily by Fox.
Fox tries to clinch but Lalpa moves out of range.

Fox forces Lalpa back against the cage and clinches.
Lalpa tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alexander Fox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Misual Lalpa.
Fox is pressed up against the cage. Lalpa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fox down to the mat. Fox avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lalpa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lalpa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fox tries to kick Lalpa off in order to stand up. Lalpa Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Lalpa cracks Fox with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Lalpa cracks Fox with a big right hand but Fox just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Lalpa taking a break here but Fox is having none of it and regains half guard.
Fox is not content to let Lalpa control the position.
Fox looks like he's trying to stand up.
Lalpa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lalpa content to control rather than advance.

Lalpa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fox doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lalpa.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lalpa slows the pace down in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lalpa stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Fox to get to his feet.
Lalpa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fox tried to score with a low kick but Lalpa checks it.

Fox throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lalpa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fox is in Lalpa's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lalpa has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Fox off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Lalpa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lalpa somewhat.

Lalpa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fox is trying to control Lalpa's posture but Lalpa avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Misual Lalpa dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Fox closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lalpa's guard.

Lalpa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fox is aware though and is defending well.
Fox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lalpa on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fox has gone for a leg lock! Lalpa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fox's guard.
Lalpa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lalpa stands up from Fox's guard - Lalpa perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lalpa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lalpa taking a break here but Fox is having none of it and regains half guard.

Lalpa maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fox could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Lalpa has cracked it and Fox is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Lalpa!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Misual Lalpa!
Misual Lalpa bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
