The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black misses with the combination.
Black tries to bum rush St pierre with a series of wild strikes but St pierre uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Black throws a series of punches but St pierre avoids them all with ease.
St pierre takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
St pierre blocks a low kick nicely.
Black takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

St pierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - St pierre lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
St pierre trying to control the position from guard on top but Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

St pierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Black is retaining full guard.
St pierre pushes down on Black's leg and manages to get into half guard.
St pierre stops Black from getting back to his feet.
Black wants to control but St pierre is keeping busy.
St pierre seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Black is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

A determined George St pierre didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
