The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Russel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Russel throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silva.
It looks like Carlos Silva has been cut.
Silva is looking to clinch.
Russel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Russel takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Russel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Russel pushes him off.
Silva steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Russel.
Silva walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Russel stuffs the takedown.
Ben Russel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Silva.

and Russel counters with a big right hand! Oh Silva is in trouble here! Russel follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
