Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yap Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chan Sung Jung! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Sung Jung looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Taylor is pushing Sung Jung up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Taylor gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Sung Jung is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sung Jung tries to circle away but Taylor has him pinned against the cage. Sung Jung can't break the clinch.
Sung Jung has had enough of the clinch but Taylor keeps him there for the moment. Sung Jung tries to break the clinch but Taylor is controlling the position. Taylor has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sung Jung is trying to keep an underhook but Taylor manages to get the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor trying to control the pace. Taylor seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sung Jung for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Yap Taylor. Sung Jung swats away the attempt to clinch by Taylor. Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sung Jung swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sung Jung misses with a wild combination.
Taylor fails in his attempt to clinch. Sung Jung gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Sung Jung is wriggling around but Taylor manages to pass to half guard.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Yap Taylor has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Taylor darts in and clinches Sung Jung up against the cage. Taylor gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Taylor lands strikes from half guard.

Taylor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Taylor works his way into full mount! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sung Jung has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Taylor is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yap Taylor dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Taylor instigates a clinch. Sung Jung is trying to break the clinch but Taylor has him pressed against the cage. Taylor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
It looks like Chan Sung Jung has been cut. Taylor lands on the inside with an uppercut. Taylor turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Taylor manages to end up in side control. Sung Jung being controlled for a moment. Sung Jung is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Taylor has just dragged him back down to the mat. Sung Jung is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sung Jung is letting Taylor control him for a moment. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Taylor passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Sung Jung! Taylor sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sung Jung is trying to stand but he's just given Taylor his back. Taylor is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sung Jung controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Yap Taylor just wasn't active enough. Taylor is looking to clinch. Sung Jung throws a nice looking combination but Taylor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Taylor drives through and clinches with Sung Jung against the cage.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Yap Taylor. Taylor fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sung Jung swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Taylor clinches up with Sung Jung and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Taylor jumps guard and drags Sung Jung to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Taylor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sung Jung manages to get himself to full guard.
Taylor is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sung Jung can do to turn this around? Taylor content to stall in guard here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taylor has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yap Taylor dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Chan Sung Jung's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Sung Jung swats away the attempt to clinch by Taylor. Taylor gets in close and instigates a clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Sung Jung wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Taylor has him pressed against the cage. Sung Jung has had enough of the clinch but Taylor keeps him there for the moment. Sung Jung manages to break the clinch.
Chan Sung Jung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taylor drives through with a takedown into guard. Sung Jung wants to stand up but Taylor is controlling him. Taylor showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sung Jung takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Taylor passes into half guard. Taylor is controlling the pace.
Taylor's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sung Jung gets caught flat footed, as Taylor shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Taylor engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Taylor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sung Jung's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Taylor performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Sung Jung wants to stand and escape but instead Taylor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Taylor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chan Sung Jung has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yap Taylor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Yap Taylor has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Taylor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
And that's the end of the fight! Yap Taylor showed his dominance in that final round. Well Taylor has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
