Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry McKinnon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Errol Flynn!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flynn shoots in for a takedown but McKinnon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McKinnon fails to land with a series of punches.
McKinnon closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Errol Flynn has been cut.
Flynn on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Flynn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McKinnon gets back to half guard.
McKinnon manages to get to full guard.
McKinnon striking off his back but it's not causing Flynn any problems.

Flynn drops back, looking for a kneebar! McKinnon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McKinnon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McKinnon!
McKinnon in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Flynn tries to buck McKinnon off but McKinnon is having none of it.

McKinnon working the ground and pound but Flynn is defending the strikes.
McKinnon throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The strikes coming from McKinnon are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
McKinnon in side control, throwing shots but Flynn defends.
McKinnon controls the position.
McKinnon tries to stand but Flynn is controlling his head.
Flynn tries to bench press McKinnon off him but McKinnon keeps the position.

McKinnon working away.
McKinnon tries to advance to mount but Flynn denies him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flynn isn't going anywhere.
McKinnon tries to score with some ground and pound. Flynn controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

McKinnon stands up.
Flynn fails to land the takedown.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

McKinnon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
McKinnon wants to pass to mount but Flynn is defending the position.

McKinnon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Flynn wants to get back to full guard.
McKinnon trying to control from Flynn's half guard. Flynn has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

McKinnon drops back looking for a leg! Flynn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Flynn manages to kick McKinnon off! McKinnon jumps back into Flynn's guard.
McKinnon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

McKinnon forces his way into half guard.

McKinnon is looking for a kimura here.
Flynn wants to improve his position but McKinnon is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flynn is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Flynn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Flynn gets caught flat footed, as McKinnon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Flynn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McKinnon defends it easily.

McKinnon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

McKinnon stands up and beckons Flynn to his feet.
Barry McKinnon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McKinnon scores with a nice strike.
Flynn fails with a takedown attempt.
McKinnon lands with a shot to the body.
Flynn is breathing heavily.
Flynn closes the distance and clinches up with McKinnon, looking for a takedown. Flynn pushes McKinnon against the cage but McKinnon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Barry McKinnon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Errol Flynn.

McKinnon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McKinnon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Flynn, who protects the arm well.
McKinnon wants to stand but Flynn has his arm trapped.

McKinnon grinds an elbow into Flynn's temple.
McKinnon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flynn keeps working.
Flynn struggling a bit here.
McKinnon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

McKinnon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Flynn to his feet.

McKinnon has taken the fight to the clinch.

Flynn is fighting off a takedown attempt but McKinnon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Flynn to the mat. Flynn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
McKinnon wants to control from the top but Flynn keeps moving.

McKinnon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flynn's guard.
It looks like McKinnon is going to stand back up.
McKinnon wants to pass to mount but Flynn is defending the position.
Flynn tries to roll over but McKinnon keeps him under control.
McKinnon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McKinnon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Flynn has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
McKinnon stuffs the takedown.

Flynn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McKinnon is on top in guard.
McKinnon's corner is telling him to maintain position.
McKinnon tries to free his leg and advance position but Flynn is retaining full guard.
McKinnon tries to stand but Flynn is controlling from the bottom.

McKinnon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

McKinnon is looking to stand up but Flynn won't let him.

Flynn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McKinnon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Flynn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McKinnon wants to control from the top but Flynn keeps moving.
McKinnon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flynn is keeping the position for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flynn can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
McKinnon postures up.
Flynn keeping full guard, as McKinnon tries to pass.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Flynn holds on and takes a little breather.
McKinnon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Flynn can do to turn this around?

We're going to have a standup here because Barry McKinnon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Flynn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McKinnon to the mat! McKinnon manages to get full guard.

Flynn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McKinnon throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

McKinnon is looking to sinch up a triangle. Flynn throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to McKinnon's body to avoid the submission. McKinnon has instead reached around Flynn's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! McKinnon arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Barry McKinnon!
An out of breath Barry McKinnon thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
