Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Bobberson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sasha Lakovic! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bobberson is defended easily by Lakovic. Good work by Bobberson as he checks the leg kick. Bobberson shoots and misses and Lakovic counters with an outside leg kick.
Lakovic blocks a jab. Lakovic ducks under a wild hook from Bobberson. Lakovic throws a jab but it's blocked by Bobberson. Bobberson misses with a takedown attempt and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Bobberson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lakovic throws a leg kick but Bobberson checks it. Lakovic checks a leg kick nicely. Bobberson defending well as Lakovic loads up on a big left hand. Lakovic lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Bobberson looks to land a left hand but Lakovic moved out of range nicely. Bobberson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lakovic. Bobberson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lakovic misses with a two punch combination.
Lakovic scores with a jab to the body. Bobberson takes one on the button. Lakovic scores with the left hand. Bobberson knows he should have avoided that one. Lakovic is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Bobberson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lakovic to the ground. Bobberson is now in Lakovic's guard. Bobberson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lakovic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lakovic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bobberson's guard. Lakovic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bobberson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lakovic tries to free his leg and advance position but Bobberson is retaining full guard. Bobberson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lakovic is aware though and is defending well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bobberson looking for a triangle here. Lakovic is fighting it but it looks tight! Bobberson pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Lakovic is tapping out - this one is all over!
