Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Zapata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Charyak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zapata's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Tres Delinquentes. Charyak has chosen Ni**as in Paris as his entrance music. Brad Charyak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Zapata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Charyak!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zapata scores with a nice strike.
Charyak moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Zapata looks to score with a jab to the body but Charyak is just out of range.
Zapata tries for a takedown but Charyak circles away easily

and Charyak decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Zapata's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Charyak trying to control but Zapata is working from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Charyak keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Zapata's head.
Charyak trying to control the position from guard on top but Zapata is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Charyak controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Charyak throws a strike but Zapata rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Zapata wants to pass the guard but Charyak is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zapata trying to control the position from guard on top but Charyak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Zapata tries to free his leg and advance position but Charyak is retaining full guard.
Charyak is adopting a defensive guard.
Zapata trying to control but Charyak is working from the bottom.
Zapata passes Charyak's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Zapata is just content to waste time from the top position. Charyak takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Zapata looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zapata is stalling in the full guard.
Zapata is looking to work some ground and pound but Charyak has wrist control.
Zapata wants to pass the guard but Charyak is keeping the position.
Zapata is working hard here to advance position.
Zapata trying to control the position from guard on top but Charyak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Zapata's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alejandro Zapata.
Zapata takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Zapata shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Charyak counters with a nice uppercut.
A slow jab from Zapata misses its intended target.

Charyak shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Charyak showed some decent athleticism there.

Charyak missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zapata is trying to control but can't.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Charyak is trying to control the action in half guard but Zapata is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Zapata looking for submissions off his back.

Charyak seems to be working for a kimura but Zapata defends the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charyak is looking to stall here but Zapata recovers full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brad Charyak dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Charyak throws a leg kick but Zapata checks it.

Charyak pushes Zapata up against the cage in a clinch.
Charyak misses with a body punch.
Zapata can't find room to land a body shot as Charyak controls the action.
Charyak tries to work over Zapata's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Charyak tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A shot in the inside from Charyak.
Charyak creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Zapata with a big uppercut! Zapata tries to clinch up but Charyak pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Zapata to the mat! Zapata covers up and Charyak unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Brad Charyak!
During a confident post fight interview, Brad Charyak thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
