Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Stark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Shin! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Stark in his tracks. Stark shoots and misses and Shin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stark's guard now. Shin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Stark keeping full guard, as Shin tries to pass. Shin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Shin wants to pass the guard but Stark is keeping the position. Stark preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Stark looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stark throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Stark looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shin passes into half guard.
Stark really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Shin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stark won't allow Shin to pass to mount. Shin not doing much here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stark works his way to full guard. Good work. Shin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Shin looking to pass the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stark preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stark avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Shin stays in close to Stark's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shin is looking to work some ground and pound but Stark has wrist control. Shin postures up in Stark's guard and throws a big left but Stark blocks it. Shin trying to control but Stark is working from the bottom. Stark tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shin tries to free his leg and advance position but Stark is retaining full guard. Shin trying to control the position from guard on top but Stark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stark working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stark is tightening it up a little... Shin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Shin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Shin taps out! Nice BJJ there by Stark!
