The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bird closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bird sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Bird closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Bird pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bird fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.

Silva uses his free foot to push down on Bird's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bird.
