The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ward.
Armannsson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ward moves to clinch but Armannsson breaks away
and Armannsson counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Albert Ward has been cut.
Ward blocks a head kick by Armannsson .
Ward tries to clinch
and Armannsson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ward looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ward tries to clinch up but Armannsson circles away and keeps his distance.
Armannsson drops Ward with a beautiful combination! Ward stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Armannsson is looking for the KO!

Armannsson connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Ward covering up! Armannsson comes in with a big uppercut and Ward goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

After winning the bout, Hakon Armannsson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
