Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladimir Bukharin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeremy Ring! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bukharin fails with a takedown attempt. Ring tries to grapple but his opponent circles so Bukharin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ring is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bukharin won't allow Ring to sweep him here. Bukharin is in close to Ring's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bukharin looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ring keeping full guard, as Bukharin tries to pass. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bukharin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Bukharin throws an elbow that misses. Ring uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bukharin's guard. Nice move by Ring! Bukharin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bukharin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ring gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bukharin keeping moving, preventing Ring from controlling successfully. Ring postures up and lands a big shot to Bukharin's brow. Ring is looking to stand up but Bukharin won't let him. Bukharin trying to keep a closed guard but Ring is proving a slippery customer.
This has been an exciting period of action! Ring wants to stand but Bukharin is controlling his posture from full guard. Ring stopping the sweep attempt from Bukharin. Ring passes Bukharin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ring seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bukharin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bukharin is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ring passes to full mount! Ring wants to control the pace but Bukharin is squirming around nicely. Ring tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Ring tries to control but Bukharin wriggling away. Bukharin is trying to escape the mount.
Bukharin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Ring prevents Bukharin from improving his position. Bukharin trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bukharin. Ring looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bukharin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ring is working away from the top position though. Ring wants to stand up but Bukharin has a hold of him and won't allow it. Bukharin wants to control but Ring is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ring tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bukharin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Bukharin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Bukharin dominated that round. That's time! Bukharin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bukharin shoots for a takedown but Ring saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bukharin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ring.
Ring wants to clinch. Bukharin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ring sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ring is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bukharin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bukharin misses with a looping left. Ring moves to clinch but Bukharin breaks away enabling Bukharin to counter with a crisp jab. Bukharin misses with a straight right.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Ring. Bukharin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ring throws a head kick but Bukharin moves out of range.

Bukharin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bukharin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ring knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bukharin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ring keeps working. Bukharin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ring tries to buck Bukharin off but Bukharin is having none of it. Bukharin scoring with punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bukharin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ring knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. You can see the frustration on Ring's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bukharin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ring is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bukharin is looking to take a break and control but Ring is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ring is looking to reverse the position. Vladimir Bukharin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ring can't do much from the bottom here. Ring prevents Bukharin from improving position. Bukharin in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Bukharin tries for a kimura but Ring is defending well. Ring is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Ring tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bukharin lands a nice forearm strike. Bukharin throws an elbow but Ring slips to the side and avoids it well. Check out the look on Bukharin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bukharin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ring might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bukharin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Bukharin trying to control the position but Ring is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ring wants to clinch but Bukharin slips to the side and Bukharin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bukharin tries to free his leg and advance position but Ring is retaining full guard. Ring controls Bukharin momentarily but Bukharin frees himself. Ring keeping moving, preventing Bukharin from controlling successfully. Bukharin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. This has been an exciting period of action! Bukharin working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bukharin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Ring wants to control but Bukharin postures up. Bukharin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bukharin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ring keeps working. Bukharin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ring is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Bukharin works his way into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ring working to try and regain half guard.
Ring takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Bukharin content just to control the position here. This has been an exciting period of action! Ring keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ring tries to lock up and control but Bukharin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bukharin looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Ring taking shots to the head. Bukharin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ring can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bukharin scoring with strikes but Ring is staying in there. Ring is still in real trouble! Can Bukharin finish him? Ring prevents any damage by holding on tight. Bukharin in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Ring takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Bukharin's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Vladimir Bukharin gave a mention to BioPharm Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
