And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Del Marquesa lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hallak will feel that in the morning.
Del Marquesa moves out of range of the strikes.
Hallak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Del Marquesa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hallak on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Del Marquesa. Del Marquesa obviously looking to wear him down.
Del Marquesa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hallak counters with a three punch combo that has Del Marquesa backing up. Del Marquesa nods at Hallak to acknowledge the strikes.
Hallak misses with a wild combination.
Hallak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hallak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hallak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Del Marquesa.
Giovinco Del Marquesa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Del Marquesa fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hallak.
Hallak fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hallak circles away from the clinch attempt.

Del Marquesa tries to clinch up but Hallak circles away and keeps his distance.
Hallak tries to bum rush Del Marquesa with a series of wild strikes but Del Marquesa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hallak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Del Marquesa circles away quickly and effectively.
Del Marquesa takes the fight into the clinch.

Hallak is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Del Marquesa misses with a body punch.
Hallak prevents a body shot from Del Marquesa.
Hallak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hallak tries to clinch but Del Marquesa is having none of it.

Del Marquesa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hallak.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Del Marquesa tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hallak's elbow.
Del Marquesa digs a right hand into Hallak's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hallak's gas tank.
Hallak pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Del Marquesa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Del Marquesa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hallak, pushing him back against the cage.
Del Marquesa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Hallak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

It looks like Giovinco Del Marquesa has been cut.
Hallak just misses with a punch to the body.
Del Marquesa fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Del Marquesa is looking to clinch.

Del Marquesa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hallak counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hallak drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hallak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Del Marquesa keeps working.
Del Marquesa wants to control but Hallak postures up.
Del Marquesa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hallak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hallak has hold of Del Marquesa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Del Marquesa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hallak cranks the arm and Del Marquesa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Del Marquesa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hamood Hallak!
