Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Wiesenthal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiesenthal kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Who By Fire. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Ferrari!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrari connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wiesenthal. Wiesenthal circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wiesenthal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ferrari avoids it really well and circles away.

Wiesenthal shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wiesenthal was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ferrari tries to hold on but Wiesenthal postures up.
Wiesenthal can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ferrari is looking to escape.
Ferrari is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wiesenthal scores with a couple of good head shots there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wiesenthal with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Wiesenthal moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ferrari has worked his arm free - good work by Ferrari!
Wiesenthal laying and praying for a moment but Ferrari takes advantage and regains half guard.
Ferrari is looking to control Wiesenthal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ferrari avoid being mounted?
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wiesenthal wants to take a breather but Ferrari is having none of it.

Wiesenthal wants to work for an arm triangle but Ferrari is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wiesenthal works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wiesenthal won't let Ferrari get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Wiesenthal postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ferrari looks a forlorn figure.
Wiesenthal lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ferrari is just holding on here. Wiesenthal manages to take his back.
Wiesenthal lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Ferrari.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Wiesenthal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wiesenthal throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wiesenthal ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ferrari misses with a low kick.
Wiesenthal looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Wiesenthal throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wiesenthal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wiesenthal takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice inside leg kick there by Wiesenthal. That's going to slow Ferrari down.
Ferrari goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ferrari will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ferrari lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Ferrari misses with a body shot.
Ferrari throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Wiesenthal tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ferrari was well out of range. Poor timing from Wiesenthal.

Ferrari keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wiesenthal digs a good body shot into Ferrari's ribs.
Wiesenthal takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ferrari takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Mario Ferrari has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wiesenthal throws a shot from downtown. Ferrari moves away and avoids it.
Wiesenthal is looking to wear down Ferrari with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ferrari throws a front kick aimed at Wiesenthal's knee but Wiesenthal avoids it well.
Wiesenthal throws a hook but Ferrari blocks it.
Ferrari throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Ferrari swings for the body but Wiesenthal moves out of range.

Ferrari tries to land a front kick but Wiesenthal steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ferrari tries a head kick but it misses.
Wiesenthal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferrari tries to avoid it but Wiesenthal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferrari to the ground. Ferrari escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wiesenthal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Wiesenthal dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ferrari. That did some damage!
Wiesenthal is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ferrari's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

A solid leg kick lands there for Wiesenthal.

Good leg kick by Ferrari there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Wiesenthal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wiesenthal looking to sit in guard and control but Ferrari gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wiesenthal throws out a leg kick but Ferrari moves out of range and Wiesenthal only half commits.

A nice leg kick lands there from Wiesenthal.
Ferrari steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wiesenthal.
Ferrari fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wiesenthal manages to avoid it.
Ferrari throws a low kick, looking for Wiesenthal's leg but Wiesenthal calmly moves out of range.
Ferrari avoids a kick to the body.
Ferrari misses with a straight left.

Ferrari moves into the clinch.

Ferrari gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Wiesenthal regains guard.
Wiesenthal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wiesenthal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ferrari decides to stand back up.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Wiesenthal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ferrari throws a shot from downtown. Wiesenthal moves away and avoids it.
Ferrari throws a head kick but Wiesenthal moves out of range.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Wiesenthal closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ferrari's guard.
Ferrari is looking to sweep but instead, Wiesenthal has passed into half guard.
Wiesenthal is thwarting Ferrari's attempts to control the position.
Ferrari looks like he's trying to stand up.
Wiesenthal takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wiesenthal throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Wiesenthal sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ferrari defending well though.

Ferrari is in a horrible position here. Wiesenthal smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That has opened up Mario Ferrari's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ferrari has given up his back here. Will Wiesenthal look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Oooh a big shot gets through from Wiesenthal. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Ferrari is still in real trouble! Can Wiesenthal finish him?
Ferrari takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wiesenthal lands a massive shot to the side of Ferrari 's head and he's out cold! Wiesenthal jumps to his feet and milks the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Simon Wiesenthal!

After winning the bout, Simon Wiesenthal thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
