Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boy Puti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Smith will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Smith!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a straight left.
Puti blocks a jab.
Puti misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Puti feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Smith on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Smith avoids the body shot from Puti.
Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Smith content to stall in guard here.
Puti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Puti manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.
Puti postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Smith has his hands on Puti's head, controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jake Smith.
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Puti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Puti drops an elbow to the side of Smith's head.
Puti is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.
Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Puti is working away from the top position though.
Puti wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.

Smith has hold of Puti's hands but Puti slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Puti throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.

Smith is trying to maintain the position but Puti is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puti is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Puti takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Smith is not content to let Puti control the position.
Puti frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Puti looking to finish Smith with some ground and pound. This is bad for Smith!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Puti is landing with some decent strikes but Smith is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Smith is rocked!
It looks like Jake Smith has been cut.
Puti lands a big shot to the head and Smith winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
